For business owners

Get your Bournemouth business in front of visitors

The guide already covers 550+ places across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. Adding yours, or claiming one that is already here, is free.

How it works

Three steps, and no invoice at the end

  1. 01

    Tell us about the place

Name, where it is, how to get hold of you. Two minutes, and there is nothing to pay.

  2. 02

We check it and write it up

An editor verifies the details and writes the listing in the guide’s own voice, the same as every other entry.

  3. 03

    You keep it right

Sign in whenever your hours, menu or facilities change. Your edits go live once an editor has read them.

Why bother

People read this before they book, not after

The guide is written for someone planning a trip to Bournemouth: what to do, where to eat, where to stay. They arrive at your page already looking for somewhere like yours, which is a very different visitor from one who found you by accident.

A claimed listing is a better listing. Opening hours that are right on a bank holiday, a description that matches the menu you actually serve, the facilities people filter by, dog friendly, step-free, outdoor tables, vegan options. All of it is the difference between appearing in someone’s shortlist and being scrolled past.

It stays free, and it stays independent. We do not sell placement, and claiming your business does not change a word of what we have written about it.

Tell us about your place

Already in the guide? Find your page and use the "Is this your business?" panel there instead, it claims the listing that already exists.

An address at your own domain makes checking faster.

At least ten characters. You can sign in once we have approved your business.

We never publish your email or phone number without asking.
Common questions

Listing your business, answered

Does it cost anything to be listed?

No. Being in the guide is free, and claiming a place you own is free. We write the listings ourselves because that is what makes the guide worth reading, and nobody can buy their way into it or up it.

What can I change once I have claimed my business?

The practical things: your one-line description, opening times, price guide, phone, email, website, address, facilities and what makes the place worth a visit. Changes are read by an editor before they go live, usually within two working days.

What can I not change?

The name of the place, which section of the guide it sits in, where it appears on the map and anything we have written about how good it is. That independence is the whole point of the guide, and it is what makes a listing in it mean something.

How do you check that a business is really mine?

By hand. We look at the contact details you give us against the ones the business publishes, and we may phone the number listed on your own website. An email address at your own domain makes it quicker.

Can I add photographs?

Send us links to photographs you own the rights to, on your website, your Instagram or your Google Business profile, and we will add the best of them to your page with a credit. Please do not send photographs somebody else took.

My business is already in the guide. What do I do?

Find its page and use the "Is this your business?" panel at the bottom of it. That claims the listing that already exists, which is better than creating a second one.
