Bournemouth is one of the most accessible seaside resorts on the south coast, well connected to London and the wider UK. Here is how to get here.
By train
Regular direct services run from London Waterloo to Bournemouth in around two hours, with trains continuing on to Poole, Dorchester and Weymouth. Bournemouth station sits about a mile from the seafront, with buses, taxis and an easy walk into the town centre.
By car
From London and the M25, follow the M3 and then the M27 westbound, joining the A31 and A338 spur road that leads straight into Bournemouth. The journey is typically around two to two and a half hours depending on traffic. There is ample parking near the seafront, gardens and town centre, though it fills quickly on sunny summer days arrive early.
By coach
National coach services connect Bournemouth with London Victoria and cities across the country. It is the most budget-friendly option, with the main stop close to the travel interchange and town centre.
By air
Bournemouth Airport, a few miles north of the town near Hurn, handles a range of domestic and European flights. Alternatively, Southampton Airport is around 45 minutes away and offers wider connections, with an easy onward train.
