Bambuu is a Brazilian and Pan-Asian restaurant and cocktail bar at 106 Commercial Road, right in the heart of Bournemouth town centre. It brings together fire-grilled Brazilian cooking with Pan-Asian small plates, set inside a botanical dining room styled after Rio de Janeiro, think tropical planting, warm wood and low lighting, with an outdoor garden for al fresco drinks.
The food
The Brazilian menu leans on the grill, with dishes such as picanha and alcatra alongside street-food snacks like coxinha, bolinha de queijo and pastéis. Running alongside is a Pan-Asian menu of sushi rolls, bao buns, gyoza and prawn noodles, so mixed groups have plenty to choose between. The bar matches the Brazilian theme with caipirinhas, classic, passion fruit and caipirosska versions, plus daiquiris, mojitos, piña coladas and espresso martinis.
Atmosphere
Bambuu is as much about the room as the menu. Rich greens, terracotta tones and tropical foliage set a Rio-inspired mood, and the garden adds an outdoor option on warmer evenings. At weekends resident DJs play Afrobeats, Amapiano and Brazilian funk, tipping the space from restaurant into something closer to a party venue after dark. Saturdays bring a bottomless brunch with 90 minutes of free-flowing drinks and sharing plates, and the venue also takes private hire bookings for birthdays and celebrations.
Good to know
Bambuu is open daily from around 4pm to midnight, with Sundays running from midday for its Nosso Domingo sitting, always worth confirming current times on the website before you go. Booking ahead is sensible, particularly for weekends and the bottomless brunch, which sells out. It's a short walk from Bournemouth's main shopping streets and the seafront, so it slots easily into a day out.
