The Brunswick Hotel, known simply as the Brunswick, is a traditional community pub on Malmesbury Park Road, close to Queen's Park on the northern edge of central Bournemouth. Despite the name, it operates as a proper local pub rather than a hotel: a place for a pint, pub food and live sport rather than a stay.
Drink and atmosphere
Run as a Greene King house, the Brunswick is Cask Marque-accredited and pours the brewery's own range, Greene King IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen, alongside the usual lagers, ciders and spirits. Inside there's a pool table and an open fire for colder months; outside, a beer garden gives options for warmer days. Sky Sports and TNT Sports are shown, which makes it a regular spot for locals catching football and rugby fixtures.
Good to know
The pub has its own car park, useful given it sits away from the seafront and the town centre's pay-and-display zones. Free WiFi is available, and it has built a reputation as a straightforward, welcoming local rather than a food-led destination, expect pub classics rather than a chef-driven menu. For current opening hours, food service times and any live sport fixtures, it's best to check directly with the pub or its Greene King listing before visiting.
The Brunswick is a good option if you're staying or exploring around Queen's Park rather than the seafront. For more options nearer the coast, browse the rest of our food & drink guide, or see what else is on in the area via our things to do guide.
