Lockett Fuel is a café with a genuinely unusual setting, it operates from inside Ashley Automotive, a classic and used car dealership on Wallisdown Road stacked with vintage cars, motorbikes and 4x4s. Siblings Kiera Lockett-Chadwick and Ryan Lockett launched the café alongside the showroom in 2020, and the pairing has become a small local fixture: part coffee stop, part car museum.
What's on offer
The counter keeps things simple and done well, proper coffee, bagels, wraps and other lunch options, plus rotating seasonal specials that regulars look forward to, from a pumpkin spice latte in autumn to other one-off treats through the year. It's a grab-a-coffee-and-browse kind of place rather than a sit-down restaurant, with the showroom's eclectic collection of cars and bikes providing the backdrop.
Recognition
The café picked up "Trader of the Week" from the Bournemouth Echo, and it's built a following well beyond people who've just popped in to look at a car, plenty come for the coffee and stay to browse the showroom floor.
Good to know
Lockett Fuel sits within Ashley Automotive's premises at 260 Wallisdown Road, so it's easy to combine a coffee with a look around the showroom. As with any small independent café, hours can shift around events and holidays, so it's worth checking the venue's Facebook page before a special trip.
