Conto Lounge is a branch of the Lounges chain of neighbourhood café-bars, set on Wimborne Road at the northern edge of central Bournemouth, near Winton and Charminster. Like other Lounges venues, it's designed to work for the whole day, a coffee and breakfast spot in the morning that eases into lunch, then cocktails and dinner as the evening goes on.
Food and drink
The menu runs from breakfast and brunch through to a full dinner and cocktail list, with dishes such as a Hot Honey Fried Chicken Burger and a Byron Bay Brunch of sweetcorn fritters with feta and avocado, alongside drinks like an Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte. Gluten-free and vegan menus are available, and there's a dedicated kids menu, so mixed groups and families are well catered for.
Atmosphere and setting
The interior follows the Lounges chain's signature look, an eclectic, characterful mix of framed paintings and portraits and vintage-style furnishings, with a handful of seats in the window and a few more outside at the front. It's a relaxed, sit-and-stay kind of place rather than a quick-turnaround café.
Good to know
Conto Lounge is dog friendly and wheelchair accessible, with an accessible restroom and seating. It's open every day from 9am to 11pm. Groups of six or fewer can generally just walk in, while larger parties should book ahead, and click & collect is available for takeaway orders.
