The Iford Bridge is a well-known pub on the Southbourne/Christchurch fringe of Bournemouth, set right beside the River Stour at the Iford roundabout just off the A35. The building has been through several names over the last century or so, it's been known as the New Inn, the Iford Bridge Hotel and the Iford Bridge Tavern, and today it trades as part of the Sizzling Pubs & Grill chain.
Food and drink
True to the Sizzling Pubs name, the menu is built around hearty British pub classics served on sizzling skillets, alongside the usual pub-grub favourites and a Sunday roast. It's not fine dining, but it's consistently reviewed as good value for money, reasonable prices and generous portions come up again and again in guest reviews. On the drinks side, the pub is Cask Marque-accredited, pouring two regular Ringwood ales plus a changing guest beer alongside the standard lagers, wines and soft drinks.
Good to know
The Iford Bridge has a large garden and outdoor seating, making it a popular stop after a walk along the Stour or a day on the nearby beaches at Southbourne and Tuckton. It's set up as a family-friendly pub, with free WiFi for those passing through. Opening hours run daily from midday into the evening, though exact times can shift, so it's worth checking ahead or calling on 01202 483387 before you set off.
