Lemon Garden is a small Turkish café and cake shop on Wimborne Road in Winton, just north of Bournemouth town centre. It made local headlines when it opened as a Turkish cake shop, and has since grown into a full daytime café serving breakfast and brunch alongside its cakes.
The food
The counter is the main draw, homemade cakes, baklava and pastries sit alongside a proper Turkish breakfast spread. The wider menu covers savoury classics like menemen (Turkish-style scrambled eggs with tomato and peppers), spinach börek, hummus and omelettes, plus meze and lamb kebab for something more substantial. Sweet-toothed visitors are well catered for too, with red velvet cake, chocolate cake and cheesecake regularly on offer. It's a menu built around good value: most dishes and cakes come in well under £10 a head.
Good to know
Lemon Garden holds a 5-star food hygiene rating and a strong 4.8 out of 5 average from Google reviewers, who consistently praise the cakes, the Turkish breakfast and friendly, prompt service. It's generally open daily from around 9am, weekdays run a little later than weekends, though it's worth double-checking hours before a visit, as small independent cafés can vary these seasonally. The café is wheelchair accessible, and takeaway and delivery are available through Just Eat as well as dine-in seating.
