Muscliff Park is a large community park in the Muscliff area of north Bournemouth, reached off Shillingstone Drive. Covering around 14.7 acres, it was awarded Green Flag status in 2018 for the quality of its upkeep, and it's a firm favourite with local dog walkers and families wanting room to roam away from the busier seafront.
Facilities
At the heart of the park is Muscliff Community Centre, home to a well-attended children's nursery along with parties, events and adult education classes, while the neighbouring youth centre hosts fitness classes, dance sessions, training and celebrations of its own. Outdoors there's a children's play area, tennis courts, and a petanque terrain used by the local Muscliff Park Petanque Club, plus pitches for football and cricket. A car park on Shillingstone Drive makes the park easy to reach by road.
Visiting
Entry to the park is free and it's open as public green space year-round, though the community centre, youth centre and any bookable courts keep their own separate hours, check with the venues directly before a visit built around a specific activity. The park sits in the Muscliff area of the Stour Valley, a short distance from the riverside paths of the Stour Valley Nature Reserve and Muscliff Arboretum, so it's easy to combine a visit here with a longer walk along the River Stour.
