No.48 Warehouse is a Chinese restaurant and karaoke venue tucked away on the first floor of a building on St Swithun's Road in East Cliff, a couple of minutes' walk from Bournemouth town centre. Despite the name, it's actually found at number 52 rather than 48, in the same stretch of the road as several other Asian restaurants.
Food and hotpot buffet
The kitchen serves a traditional Chinese à la carte menu, but the venue is particularly known locally for its all-you-can-eat hotpot buffet, where diners choose from a selection of broths and load up on meat, seafood and vegetables at the table. It's a format that suits groups and shared dining more than a quick solo meal.
Karaoke rooms
Alongside the restaurant, No.48 Warehouse runs three private, soundproofed karaoke rooms, branded K.rooms, fitted with touchscreen karaoke systems. The rooms are sized for parties of roughly 7 to 18 people, making the venue a popular choice for birthdays and group celebrations that combine a meal with a private singalong afterwards.
Good to know
The restaurant opens for dinner Thursday to Tuesday, from around 5pm to 10pm, and is closed on Wednesdays. Reservations are accepted and are worth making in advance for the karaoke rooms or larger groups. As with any independent restaurant, it's sensible to check current opening hours, menu prices and recent reviews directly with the venue before visiting.
