Lighthouse Announces a Packed New Season in Poole

Lighthouse, Poole's centre for the arts, has announced its latest round of new shows, and the breadth is the story: touring theatre and musicals, orchestral concerts, stand-up comedy, dance and a run of family productions all land in the coming months.

The venue in the centre of Poole is the largest arts centre on the south coast, home to a concert hall, theatre, studio and cinema under one roof, and the concert base of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Because so much of its programme is touring work, shows that would otherwise mean a trip to London or Bristol regularly turn up twenty minutes from Bournemouth instead.

Something moving every week

The new season follows the venue's usual pattern of announcements landing in waves through the year, so the listings are worth checking back on rather than reading once. Family shows cluster around school holidays, big touring names tend to sell first, and the studio programme rewards the curious.

Getting there is easy: direct trains from Bournemouth take around 12 minutes, buses run frequently between the centres, and there is parking close by. Make an evening of it with a wander down to the Quay before curtain up.
